Monthly Archives: June 2022

little by little…

Tentatively, ten days after the Event, I walked

with L. to the water,

which worked.  Don’t want to become depleted like happened after my previous

Unfortunate Chair Incident and anyway it was swell to get out.

We went from BBQ to dinner and on to the final “Poirot”. Quite extraordinary, really.

Next day, Thursday, turned strangely chill; we nonetheless made it down there for a second

time, still trying to sort out the meds though the rashes continued to discomfit and,

“Poirot” complete, we initiated a “Sherlock Holmes” binge, 36 hours from start to [far from here]

finish. I continued to Venture Forth; not exactly the Smoke Creek but could be

worse. The whole deal could have been way worse, wethinks.

Benicia in bloom, in June…Memorial Day Weekend or,

from Gregg Renfrow’s point of view, the straits;

Sadly missing PXP’s Annual Event we endured excellent weather nevertheless as Amtrak went

east and The Weekend unfolded with more ambitious, albeit dogless, local walks.

After one to the cove west of West Second on Sunday afternoon

we had Visitors;

 Christine, Chicha,

Izel and Luz,

up from familial visits and a successful opening in LA, on their way to Vancouver…for burgers,

15 cent corn and a most pleasant overnight visitation.

Memorial day morning left enough time for a walk to the water

before they had to go, a few hours late due to demands

on Luz’ time but finally, sadly,

they headed for the coast up north as avidly as Sumi headed for the waters here and we to

lunch.  Before dark they’d made Crescent City, last stop in Cali, where the next chill early morning Luz’ longboard  got a proper baptism…
