More trips to towns than one really might like…

So Wednesday began with a small walk, then

the abandonment of the pack as we were soon off to the ‘burg, everyone friendly as usual

at the dump though Safeway’s patrons seemed uncommonly pinched and mean.  Perhaps they were Trumplicans, resentful the staff remained masked, though they could have just as easily been paranoid small town opioidists…or Texas Tourists, come to think of it.

We collected our groceries, checked on the ‘bib and started for home behind a typical summer visitor.  Like they say, if you ain’t the lead horse…the view’s always the same.

By lunchtime it darkened and afternoon again brought us

steady rain followed by morning sun, subsequently more afternoon rains which

sometimes cleared enough for outdoor dining but sometimes, though the smoke

somewhat cleared, didn’t and we’d dine in, dinner with company not once but twice in the course of the week leaving a grand total of three days free two of which were, for me, somewhat diminished due to too much fun entertaining, or trying to be entertaining…

The scenery remained ever entertaining of course,

to dogs’ delight, but soon enough

– five whole days in one place! – it was time for another, bigger trip to town.

More on that disruption subsequently…
