Monthly Archives: March 2019

As if a switch…

Suddenly, just as if a switch had been thrown,

the winter rains ceased and without a cloud to be seen it seemed to be Spring. Well, briefly –

the blue skies were severely scoured by freezing Winds from the West for most of the week.

Nonetheless March 13th was notable for being our first lunch outside this year and

although the bumper sticker seen downtown said “Build the Wall and Crime Will Fall” all I’ll say to that is I have a slightly different perspective but hey, if that way succeeds we’ll all be locked in

here together with the White People while the brown waters

wash down from the burn zones.

Whatever, America.  For the interim I uneasily entertained Unrealistic Dreams

[I’m always entertainingly uneasy in the Spring] of ancient sedan deliveries

as the lengthening days slowly warmed, leading to first dinners of the year outside and then even – Saint Pat’s Day Sunday – a first breakfast out, too.  Springtime…imagine that.

Soon.
