the end of our six months west of the mountains. Nevertheless occasionally Images of Interest

do turn up or, in the case of this nomadic ’57 Nomad,

turn off…onto 780 South. Midweek week before last

brother Kirk and sister-in-law Brenda were here in their new household appliance

[plugs right in at home!] for my belated birthday lunch from Nani’s** next door

on a day unfortunately too chill to enjoy in the garden, but not too to enjoy the dogs***.

Then it was back to the usual rounds ‘n’ blooms as the weather finally

– if tentatively – warmed heading into a Last Benicia Weekend, a weekend somewhat spent

wondering exactly how everything for the next six months, including but not limited to a dozen

largish newly packed boxes of maquettes ultimately destined for the KANEKO, can be crammed into just the two trucks from here to Wall Spring along with whatever necessary

additional vittles and supplies might accumulate prior to departure though after I made a fun

run Monday to Southampton in the ’45 [which will, yes, be sorely missed] for chocolate and

Scott figured out how most of the maquette boxes would fit into his motorhome things began to seem a little more possible. Thus on the fifteenth of May, Aggies’s fifteenth birthday and the first anniversary of my Fall from Grace [AKA the Wall Spring porch] wherein after she

and her Inkie cohort dined in on ground beef over dogpellets, we adjourned to Lucca for

an indulgent al fresco evening including, among other things, two glasses of wine, 1 1/2 martinis, salmon tacos and a Caesar salad with extra anchovies before stumbling home to find the birthday girl and her friends awaiting…followed by another day of packing and loading,

loading and packing relieved only by a brief afternoon bike before Vallejo where a year ago

I was down the hall in the ER but that late afternoon it was just a last PT session…

Wednesday was more last last things; last trip to Safeway in the ’45, last cleaning of the stove and coffeepot after a last lunch by the fountain in the yard…and, after loading unto and beyond sorefooted exhaustion, finally taking a break for a last quiet dinner of Thai green curry and
