Come to think of it, what are those “boys” so proud of, anyway? Their massive Wikipedia entry?

Before all that here on earth we had another day of brightness but after de bate

woke to smoke too thick to attempt a morning’s walk although all blew off

in time for Dean’s 87th on the first, the very day we were charged with entertaining little Sprout,

a visit which convinced us that over the course of her last several dogs Mary Ann

has definitely become a Weird Dog Magnet in all the best ways.

Lunch was as a result late and what with the studio closed up and toasty I dozed to Tinawaren*

for a good part of my time up there before a walk around the block and,

temperatures dropping,

scallops inside.

We awoke to more smoke although that was somewhat offset by news that the Prince

of Denial is now acknowledging, in solidarity with allegedly millions of Americans, that he has the Coronavirus. How very strange given he’d just recently hosted a superspreader event

event in Melania’s photo-op parkinglot** and Everyone was there, PPE optional, although some rebellious ones as well as the media and the military respected the protocols.

Hopefully AG Barr and the the Vice Pres will be among the Afflicted and in the best of [my] possible worlds Nancy Pelosi will be acting President within a couple of weeks. Wouldn’t that be interesting? At any rate it looks to be a major trainwreck for American Values but no doubt Mitch and crew will, zombie apocalypse style, rise from their sickbeds to heroically contradict the precedents*** of years past and valiantly install the chosen Plantation Capitalist

lackey du jour to the Court before being restored to their ventilators.

As if all that wasn’t upsetting enough Friday night we saw what was, oh shit, the season’s last episode of Van der Valk. It was just getting good…who woulda thought there’d be only three.

*click the link and watch for the peppers.

**formally the White House rose garden
