The New World Ordure

We’ll see…the Defeated watch “humorous” videos too idiotic to be satiric on their portable screens which only reminds me of the Hopelessness of the Situation. Yeah, guys, sure; enjoy the hysteric canned laughter, click on those online petitions and go fight for those school board postings and on and on up to where you can finally try to influence redistricting and gerrymandering [good luck with THAT!] so in fifty years maybe you too can start to roll back what the patient people behind this hostile takeover have managed to orchestrate in a hundred days. The consequences remain very much in doubt but they seem to be grabbing up the benefits for all they’re worth in the meantime.

Following our Great [and volatile] Leader’s astounding Chinese Takeout, wherein while hosting the Chinese ambassador he took out [or tried to] a number of Syrian airbases by Remote Control the Russians were moved to reposition destroyers to the eastern Mediterranean from their arguably considerably less aggressive battle stations on the Black Sea [and you’d best believe THEIR “military hardware” is more than equal to what our free-dumb-of-choosing-defense-contractors put out there for “our” government at maximum profit] while I just happily putt around, fourth quarter ‘n’ counting…

contemplating traffic in the straits…

and more Beniciae minutiae.

Expect delays and fresh paint before a rain.

A BIG rain…

with clearing, but chill [chill!] winds

and flooding followed by

Facetime, a distant 2 1/2 year old over in

infectious Brooklyn.

Whereas in busy Benicia, breezy April days, colder than they look, and here come the Hyundais!

While 1936 Fords [suicide doors, no less] remain…

as do de dogs, awaiting BBQ, Sunday eve.  Meanwhile I periodically post last year’s greatest hits – like Lefty in the cheat grass or one of the fledging magpies –

on Instagram where, due to Instagram’s idiotic non-synchronicities, they can only be found by looking for “illmostr2″…but there they are.  Another distraction, hey, as the propaganda ponderously swings around behind Our Leader, increasingly portrayed as “determined” [as opposed to completely unhinged], with clips running behind the concerned [now approving] commentators that look like they’ve been lifted from “Victory at Sea” .  Nothing like a war to coalesce the Powers.  It’s easily done; just put up some bleachers in the sun and hold it out on Highway 61.

Also Monday; boats, trains, dogs

and then away to Santa Clara…

mmmm…

You’ve caught the mood of the moment so accurately that one cannot really add much, even in photos which would seem to be unconnected. Shadows darker and somewhat sinister, what seems to be an iris with sharp yucca spears crowded around, and more. Especially for those who were lucky enough to experience the sunny promise of the 60s this could not be a more depressing time. And Mr. T is like one of those punch-me inflatables–all blows land helplessly and his pudgy face comes flying back at you.
Easy to say “this too will pass”, but what else will pass with it?

You are sounding straight outta Private Eye with your political commentary. I would have liked the “EXPECT DELAY” right after the opening remarks because ‘delay’ is what we will get as far as policy goes! Did you move to Benicia because people with your kind of vehicles come there?

Benicia’ definitely car-friendlier than across the bay…as for the other stuff, um, we discovered the Chinese Global Television Network in our motel in Santa Clara. A good place to observe Trump’s Wars…

I’m not sure that this is a sea change. We’ve gone from our leaders covertly enriching themselves at the people’s expense to this amoral leader overtly enriching himself.

On the other hand, though I definitely agree it’s not a sea change, and that we’ve merely moved from covert to naked government, what good does it do to go to war even more than we already have been? Of course, they may have just woken up [yesterday morning] to the fact that we’ve been, and still are, at war with North Korea and so the current act is mere continuation, no additional validation required.
